The world’s largest aircraft, the Antonov AN-225, was destroyed in a Russian attack in Ukraine. Four days after Russia started its war on Ukraine, the world’s largest aircraft was targeted.
The plane, parked at an airfield near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, was destroyed during a Russian attack, Ukrainian officials said.
In Ukrainian, this plane is known as ‘Mriya’ or dream.
Russia may have destroyed our ‘Mriya’. But they will never destroy our dream of a strong, independent, and democratic European state. We will win, “Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba wrote on Twitter.
Full details of the crash have not yet been released. The Antonov company said in a tweet that the technical condition of the aircraft could not be verified unless experts inspected it.
The Ukrainian state defense company Ukroboronprom, which manages Antonov, said in a statement on Sunday that the plane had crashed but would be rebuilt at Russia’s expense.
“Reconstruction is estimated at अर्ब 3 billion and will take more than five years,” the company said in a statement.
The company says Russia will bear the cost of deliberately damaging Ukraine’s aviation and air cargo sectors.
