
Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a one-day ceasefire. A ceasefire was agreed between 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, local time, AFP reported, quoting Ukrainian officials.
The ceasefire has given the general public time to flee the war-torn region. In the northwest, civilians in areas around the capital, including Irpin and Buchla, were evacuated to Kyiv to avoid Russian military bombardment.
Even yesterday, 60 buses had evacuated the public from Sumi. According to the BBC, people are being rescued from six routes at present.
